What I’m Reading | October

Hey there, friends! Can you believe it’s October already? I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I think to myself, “Hasn’t this year flown by?”. Before you know it, Christmas will be on its way (cue the Hallelujah Chorus!). Between starting a new job and getting involved in our church, we’ve been super busy here! I’ve not had lots of time to read, but have finished up a winner of a book in the last few weeks. I thought I would share it with you so you can enjoy it, too!

Uninvited was like a gift passed to me in book form. I love how Lysa TerKeurst writes, and she so passionately shares her heart with her readers. Not only is she a New York Times Bestselling Author, but she writes biblically sound books for women in various walks of life.

Many women struggle with the feeling that they’re being left out, or uninvited – especially me. TerKeurst writes to encourage women to “live loved”, and to flee from the lies the enemy may tell us about ourselves (a word I definitely need to hear). Uninvited shares advice with women to help handle anxiety and the pain that comes from experiencing rejection. We are more than the lies in our heads: we are loved by the true King – and we ought to live like it!

This book was such a blessing for my heart. It’s easy to feel rejected or left out in life, and often, the sting of that lasts for many years. Uninvited helped remind me of who I am: a daughter of the King. Every gal should pick up a copy!

I’ve seen so many people reading Uninvited lately, and it just warms my heart to see so many women reading such a truth-filled message. If you’ve already read Uninvited, I’d strongly suggest you allow a friend or sister to borrow it so she can hear those truths, too! PS. It would make a fabulous Christmas gift for a friend or sister!
